  18.      VFONT for OS/2 loads replacement text-mode fonts for VGA systems; it
  19.      includes two variations of a "modern" font, and a handwritten "scrawl"
  20.      font.

  22.      VFONT2         This loads the solid-line, modern font (modern-s). I
  23.                     prefer this font GREATLY to the lousy default VGA ROM
  24.                     font.  Solid-line means what usually appears as double-
  25.                     line line-drawing characters is rendered as a thicker
  26.                     solid line.

  28.      VFONT2 /D      This loads the modern font with the double-line line-
  29.                     drawing characters (modern-d) as they are in the
  30.                     default font, for the traditional among you.

  32.      VFONT2 /S      This loads Scrawl, a handwritten-looking "scrawled"
  33.                     font.  Peoples' reaction to this font ranges from
  34.                     horror to delight.  Personally, I like it (for short
  35.                     stretches anyway) it makes the computer screen less
  36.                     perfect and even... more organic (yipes!).

  38.                     Even if you don't like it, its a great gag font - put
  39.                     it on your co-workers computer today!  Scrawl is an
  40.                     extensively re-worked version of a public-domain font
  41.                     (which had no name).

  43.      VFONT2 /L      This loads Scrawl with the added attraction
  44.                     (detraction?) of scrawled, wiggly line-drawing
  45.                     characters!
  46.  
  47.      VFONT2 /?      This summarizes your options and exits.  It does not
  48.                     load a font.

  50.      VFONT2 only has an effect in a full-screen session.  It will display
  51.      an error message if run from a windowed session.  Since VFONT2 only
  52.      affects the session its run in, you can have different fonts in
  53.      different sessions and OS/2 will manage them all.

  55.      If you wish to have a VFONT2 font every time you start a full-screen
  56.      session, modify or create a CMD file (usually called OS2INIT.CMD) and
  57.      attach it to PM's start full-screen session command with the CHANGE
  58.      (PROPERTIES in V1.2) menu choice.  Then place the VFONT2 command in
  59.      the CMD file.  More information on creating OS2INIT.CMD is found in
  60.      the user's manual.

  62.      VFONT2 was tested under IBM OS/2 EE 1.1 and 1.2.

  64.      P.S.: VFONT IS ONLY TO BE RUN ON VGA-EQUIPPED SYSTEMS.  It does not
  65.      itself check for the presence of a VGA.

  67.      P.P.S.: The font Scrawl is not a Deutsche Industrie-Norm (DIN)
  68.      ergonomic standard.

  73.      "Freeware".
